
For the past few weeks, there have been multiple investigations on eye drops that have affected people in the United States. Around three types of eyedrops have been recalled and the FDA has told people to stop using them. This bacteria has left people dead and many others with vision problems. The bacteria that has been found in the eye drops is “Pseudomonas aeruginosa.” Even though this bacteria has been around for a few years and tested, scientists found a different form of it that has been the reason this bacteria has caused many health issues. The brands of eyedrops that have been recalled are EzriCare Artificial Tears and Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears. These artificial eye drops have caused three people to die and twelve others to need either one of their eyeballs removed or to receive a corneal transplant. Many patients were rushed to the hospital due to the many different symptoms they started experiencing and becoming ill after using these eye drops. CDC recalls eye drops
