WrestleMania has been a world-renowned wrestling event since 1985, and in 2023 it was marketed with a Hollywood theme. On the second day of the event, it was announced that the wrestling company, WWE, would be sold to the talent agency, Endeavor Group Holdings Inc.
Endeavor also owns the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and plans to merge the two brands together in order to create a new company that is estimated to be worth over $21 billion.
Vince McMahon, the majority shareholder of WWE, announced in January 2023 that he wanted to sell the company, and there were many potential buyers. As a result of the WWE-UFC merger, McMahon will take on the role of executive chairman in the new company, while Nick Khan, the current CEO of WWE, will become its president. Meanwhile, Dana White will continue to serve as the president of UFC.
