The 69-year-old Kennedy, an environmental lawyer and known anti-vaccine activist, claimed to be a truth-teller who will unite rather than divide. He is the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy and the son of Robert Kennedy, a former US attorney general and presidential candidate who was assassinated in 1968. His entry into the primary race puts him alongside self-help guru Marianne Williamson, with President Joe Biden expected to enter the race as the clear front-runner.
