The Best Ways to Study for an Exam

With College finals on the horizon, it feels appropriate to uncover the most efficient ways to study for an exam. Everybody is different when it comes to how they process information and study for different things, but here are 5 bullet points that are generic and will benefit everyone the same.

  1. To start, in order to do well on the exam, pay attention to the materials in class.
  • So that you don’t waste your time studying the wrong material, you might be aware of any review sessions that are required in a class or what topics the exam will cover.

2. Make a Game Plan.

  • Having a game plan can help you achieve your objective since it will prevent you from feeling anxious or overwhelmed when you have tasks other than studying for the exam.

3. Study Smarter not Harder

  • Set priorities for what you’ll study rather than memorizing all of your notes. Starting with what is certain to be on the test, go on to what is likely to be on the test, and then finish with what might be on the test. In this manner, if time runs out, you may rest assured that the necessities have been taken care of.

4. Take Breaks

  • It is known that when you take study breaks, your brain can compute information better. You should bring a small, healthy snack with you that will promote your study skills. Examples of this are: nuts, dark chocolate, fruits, greek yogurt, olives, and cheese. All of those food items are known for aiding you in your studies and keeping your brain alive and well.

5. Sleep is Important

  • Although pulling an all-nighter might seem like a good idea, getting a decent night’s sleep is essential for your performance. Establish a sound sleep schedule in the weeks before your exam so you’ll be rested and prepared.

Studying for exams is never fun, but you can be more efficient by following these steps above.

What is the ICC

At a meeting in Rome in July 1998, the UN General Assembly approved the organization’s founding treaty. The Nuremberg Trials, the first international war crimes court, was responsible for bringing charges against top Nazi leaders. The concept of a permanent court to prosecute those responsible for the world’s worst atrocities gained traction in the 1990s. Most ICC members are from Africa, and the European Union is a steadfast supporter of the court. The Rome Statute was enacted on July 1, 2002, after being ratified by more than sixty nations. The Role of the International Criminal Court

How does the court work?

The Rome Statute is the founding treaty of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICC), granting the ICC jurisdiction over four significant crimes. These crimes include genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. The ICC can prosecute these crimes as part of a large-scale attack against civilians, including murder, rape, imprisonment, enforced disappearances, enslavement, sexual slavery, torture, apartheid, and deportation. It can also frame criminalizing a State’s use of armed force against the sovereignty, integrity, or independence of another State. On 15 December 2017, the Assembly of States Parties adopted a resolution on activating the Court’s jurisdiction in Kampala, Uganda, in 2010, confirming its adoption. How the court works

What countries are members of the court?

The ICC website lists 123 countries as members of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, with 33 African States, 19 Asia-Pacific States, 18 Eastern Europe, 28 Latin American and Caribbean States, and 25 Western European states. New Omicron Subvariant

Arcturus is one of the reasons Covid infections have been increasing for a few weeks now. The new omicron subvariant, Arcturus caused the infections to rise by 9.3% in the last week and has many new symptoms that are not seen in the past Covid-19 variants. This variant is a lot easier to transfer from person to person.

A few new symptoms found in the Arcturus variant are pink eye and itchiness. Currently, India is the country that has the highest number of infections with this subvariant and the pink eye symptom is mainly seen in children. Many scientists are saying this might be the dominant strain of Covid-19 in the future due to the rapid growth of this strain.

Currently, the states with the most of these cases in the United States are Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Religious bill attempting to be passed in Texas Senate

As Texas is a Conservative state, there are many of GOP-backed bills that focus on religion being instilled in the young, impressionable children of the state. On Thursday, the Texas Senate passed a bill that calls for the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public schools. This bill was passed with a 17-12 vote but not continues to the GOP-led house.

Texas Senate bill would require schools to display Ten Commandments | The Texas Tribune

Senator Phil King, the sponsor of this bill says that every elementary or secondary school must ” display in a conspicuous place in each classroom of the school a durable poster or framed copy of the Ten Commandments”

There were two other religious biased bills that were also passed this week in the Texas senate:

  1. One of the measures would allow schools to adapt to requiring prayer and Bible reading as a normal participation of employees and students.
  2. Another add-on to this would be a bill supported by Senator Tan Parker that ensures that employees will have every right to “engage in religious speech and prayer while on duty”

These three bills that will get passed are a reflection of the Texas law that mandated the schools to display “In God We Trust” around the schools. Texas seems to be on a whole other wave-link then the rest of the United States as in other states, religious rights are being taken away by the foster-care system.

House Passes New Bill

On Thursday, the Republican-led House passed a bill that would prevent transgender athletes from participating in women’s and girls’ sports in federally funded schools and institutions. This bill is unlikely to be passed by the Democratic-controlled Senate and has received a veto threat from the White House.

The Republicans are using this vote to draw attention to the issue, which is part of a larger effort in states across the US to pass similar bills limiting transgender athletes’ participation in sports. The final vote was 219-203 and followed party lines.

The House bill aims to modify federal law to require that only a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth should determine their sex for the purpose of complying with Title IX in athletics, thus barring transgender women and girls from playing on teams according to their gender identity.

What is Hegemony?

Hegemony is the domination of one group over another, frequently justified by accepted standards and viewpoints. Hegemony is a term commonly used to refer to the relatively dominant position of a particular set of ideas and their tendency to become intuitive and commonsensical, preventing the spread or even the articulation of other concepts. The actor, organization, class, or state that exercises hegemonic authority or is in charge of the reach of hegemonic ideas is referred to by the linked term hegemon. Gramsci’s concept of hegemony has been used to analyze international relations and the international political economy. In state-centered IR analysis, hegemony denotes the existence of a dominant state or group of shapes. In contrast, in hegemonic stability theory, hegemony generates stability patterns and is responsible for the rules governing the interaction.hegemony

Why hegemony might affect the US?

The most important details are:

  • The political character of China’s closest competitors.
  • The functioning of the global economy.
  • The diplomatic context.

America’s international killing spree has not been as bad as the War on Terror. With Donald Trump’s rise, the U.S. may abandon ties with democratic Europe and become an authoritarian kleptocracy like China. Why global hegemony was the worst thing to happen to America

What is Monetary policy

Monetary policy is a set of tools a nation’s central bank uses to control the money supply and promote economic growth. It involves revising interest rates, buying government bonds, targeting foreign exchange rates, and changing bank reserve requirements. The Federal Reserve Bank implements it in the US through a dual mandate.Monetary Policy Meaning, Types, and Tools

Monetary goals

The Federal Reserve Act mandates the Federal Reserve to conduct monetary policy to promote maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates. Decisions about monetary policy are made at meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). The FOMC judges that low and stable inflation at 2 percent per year is most consistent with achieving both parts of the dual mandate. To assess the maximum-employment level, the FOMC considers a range of labor market indicators, including how many workers are unemployed, underemployed, or discouraged. The FOMC does not specify a fixed goal for employment but releases estimates of the unemployment rate they expect to prevail once the economy has recovered from past shocks.Monetary Policy Principles and Practice

How does Monetary policy work ?

A central bank oversees the money supply in the economy through monetary policy. The central bank has the authority to alter the federal funds rate, which is the interest rate that banks can charge one another to meet mandatory reserve requirements. Individuals and businesses borrowing from or lending money to their banks are affected by changes in interest rates.

The monetary policy approach generally operates as a directing or moderating impact on the economy. Central banks attempt to slow down significant economic fluctuations that could severely affect people’s assets and the value of their money by modifying how appealing it is to engage in particular economic activity—for example, by raising or reducing bank lending rates. How Monetary Policy Works: Main Types of Monetary Policy
