As President Trump’s baseless claims of voter fraud are being debunked across the country, Arizona officials are speaking up. Following Governor Doug Ducey’s certification of Arizona’s election results indicating that Joe Biden had won the state’s Presidential election, President Trump took to Twitter claiming Ducey had betrayed the people of Arizona. Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers, a conservative Republican, also spoke to the election results, saying that while he was disappointed with the results, laws will not be changed to overturn a verified election.

Following the events, Trump reached out to Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward, who called for an internal audit of Arizona’s election results. On December 4th, Maricopa County Judge, Randall H. Warner, ruled against this initiative stating that “The Court finds no misconduct, no fraud, and no effect on the outcome of the election.”

Kelli Ward’s team argued that there were mistakes made in Arizona’s voting process that led to a fraudulent election. The defense acknowledged the internal mistakes made but highlighted that the errors amounted to 100-200 votes. Biden won the state by well over 10,000 votes. Arizona is one of many states to release this verdict, following Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Michigan’s actions. As Trump’s efforts continue to fail, it has been announced that his head legal advisor Rudy Giuliani was just diagnosed with COVID-19. It looks like we will have a peaceful transfer of power come January after all.
